Juice - A Healthy Addition to Your Diet

The standard diet most people follow today contain very few fruits and vegetables. We were no different.  In my herbal studies, I began to learn about whole foods and all of the benefits of a raw and plant based diet.  Knowing that this type of of a diet would be a big transition for us we decided to try juicing. We did extensive research because we had tried the juicers from the past.  Early models of juicers created a huge mess and juice that was thick and not tasty.  We finally decided on a model and anxiously awaited its arrival.  I searched the Internet for recipes and tips to make sure this would not be another appliance hidden away in the cabinet.  Our Breville juicer arrived and in the beginning we followed different recipes.   We have yet to make anything in the juicer that we do not enjoy.  Now I don't really follow a recipe. I use just about everything.  Juicing is a good way to incorporate a variety of fruits and especially vegetables into your diet that you may not otherwise get.  Juicing allows your body to get the natural enzymes from the vegetables and that are normally lost in the cooking process.  Juicing makes the absorption of the nutrients of the fruits and vegetables easier.  Google the benefits of juicing and you'll be amazed.  I hope you'll be inspired to try juicing today.
This morning we had a very simple juice that was bright and cheery for such a gloomy day.  It was simply oranges, apples, and carrots.  Although it was very simple juice, the taste was amazing.  This juice was filled with Vitamins A, C, E, Beta-Carotene, and Potassium.  This juice is also good for detoxing as it flushes out the liver and kidneys.  All of these benefits in something that taste great and contains no artificial flavors, colors, or things we can not pronounce.

To you and your health,
Terra
